“The call was extremely informative.  Sally had obviously researched and prepared for what I had asked for support with and talked me through the links, leaving me with lots of resources and ideas.  The idea of written feedback was gratefully received as it meant that I could focus on the conversation. ”

Where I’ve come from

Where I’ve come from

With over 17 years as a teacher and school leader, I bring extensive experience in curriculum development, school leadership and cultural collaborations.  My practice is reflective, inclusive and collaborative, shaped by a commitment to strategies and initiatives informed by data and research, while championing innovative approaches that enhance pupil as well as staff engagement and wellbeing.

My career has always been driven by a passion for inclusive education and the transformative power of the arts and creativity. Before training as a teacher, I led and facilitated a range of arts and cultural programmes across South Yorkshire.

I joined the Cultural Education Network in January 2025, seeking a new challenge that would allow me to apply and expand my knowledge in cultural education. This role offers the perfect opportunity to provide much-needed support in this area.  I’m passionate about creating high-quality experiences that combine specialist knowledge with mentoring and coaching, helping people feel confident and empowered.
Every day brings the chance to connect with individuals who share a commitment to improving the lives of children and young people through cultural and creative education.  On any given week, I might work one-to-one with freelancers, educators from cultural organisations, early career teachers, classroom practitioners, or members of senior leadership teams. It’s a privilege to design bespoke sessions tailored to the specific needs and requests we receive.

“I felt that talking with Sally and listening to her suggestions really grounded me and gave me practical ideas we could really use with staff and children which are so in line with what we want to achieve. I thought Sally was patient, kind and supportive. She was knowledgeable and encouraging. The offer to get in touch again in the future for more support is excellent.”
